Meet Saloni
Registered Dietitian · Nutrition Specialist
Your partner in making nutrition feel possible.
My goal is simple: to help you use nutrition as a meaningful part of your healthcare without making food feel complicated, restrictive, or overwhelming.
Food is deeply personal.
It can be part of our culture, our family traditions, our celebrations, our comfort, and our everyday routines. It can also become complicated when a diagnosis, medication, life transition, or health goal changes the way we need to eat.
I understand that nutrition is rarely just about knowing what to eat.
It is about understanding you — your health, your history, your culture, the foods you enjoy, your routines, your challenges, and what is realistically possible in your life.
That is the foundation of The Saloni Nutrition.
My Journey in Nutrition
I am Saloni Shah, a Registered Dietitian with more than a decade of education and experience across clinical nutrition, diabetes care, pediatrics, public health, nutrition research, and medical nutrition therapy.
My journey in nutrition began in Mumbai, India, where caring for people across complex clinical settings taught me that nutrition is never one-size-fits-all.
From hospital care and diabetes education to research, public health, and clinical practice in the U.S., each experience has shaped how I see nutrition today.
"I believe evidence provides the foundation, but meaningful care begins with understanding the person behind the diagnosis."
Saloni Shah, MNSD, RD
My Approach to Nutrition Care
Evidence-Based & Personalized
I believe you deserve nutrition guidance that is rooted in science — but your care should never feel like a generic handout.
I consider your medical history, nutritional needs, food preferences, culture, routines, challenges, and goals to develop recommendations that are relevant to you.
Judgment-Free
There is enough guilt and confusion surrounding food already.
My practice is a space where you can talk honestly about your eating habits, challenges, successes, setbacks, and questions without fear of being blamed or judged.
You do not need to arrive with a “perfect” diet.
You simply need to arrive as yourself.
Realistic & Actionable
I am less interested in giving you a perfect plan that works for two weeks and more interested in helping you develop strategies that can become part of your actual life.
That may mean adapting traditional foods, simplifying meals, working around a busy schedule, finding realistic ways to increase protein or fiber, navigating restaurant meals, understanding food labels, or figuring out how nutrition fits alongside medications and medical treatment.
Small, meaningful changes can become powerful when they are sustainable.
Culturally Responsive
Food does not exist in a vacuum.
Our food choices are influenced by where we come from, who we live with, our traditions, our celebrations, our memories, and what is available to us.
I do not believe that improving your health requires abandoning the foods and traditions that matter to you.
Instead, I want to help you understand how to work with the foods you already know and love while making changes that support your health.
My professional experience working with diverse communities and developing culturally appropriate nutrition education has reinforced how important this is to meaningful nutrition care.
A Little More About Me
When I’m not working with patients or learning about nutrition, you may find me enjoying some of the things that remind me that health is about much more than food:
Walking
Cycling
Swimming
I believe curiosity, creativity, and continuous learning are important not only in life, but also in healthcare.
There is always more to learn.
And there is always more to understand about the person sitting in front of us.
Education & Training
My education and professional training have provided the foundation for an evidence-based approach to nutrition care while allowing me to work across diverse clinical settings and communities.
